Backend Engineer · Lagos, NG → Remote
Backend engineer with 5+ years building and stabilizing distributed systems across fintech and SaaS. I work mostly in Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS, and I own production domains end to end: pulling services out of legacy monoliths, designing API gateways, and building event-driven pipelines.
Currently sole backend engineer at SCN (Stardust Creator Network), where I own infrastructure decisions, third-party integrations, and system architecture across the platform.
I came up building product, fast. Tech lead on a fintech platform at Motopay, then distributed-systems work at Mainstack, where I built a centralized API gateway, an event-driven AWS media pipeline, and took sole ownership of an LMS backend inside a 4,000-file monolith, extracting it into a standalone service.
At some point I stopped being satisfied operating at the framework layer and went down to fundamentals: JavaScript execution models, Node’s I/O internals, TypeScript’s type system, database storage engines, and the data structures underneath them. That depth is the difference between wiring systems together and actually reasoning about them.
